What does boxing involve?
Boxing is a combat sport where you work on your fitness, strength, coordination and reaction time. During a training session you learn various punching techniques, work on your footwork and do exercises that engage your entire body.
At Powerhouse 040, boxing is not about actual fighting, but about technique, control and continuously improving yourself. Whether you want to stay fit, gain more self-confidence or simply train in a fun way. Boxing is good and healthy for everyone!
Is boxing for me?
Yes! Boxing is for anyone who is interested in learning physical techniques and wants to become healthier and fitter. Our classes range from young to old, beginner to advanced and both men and women.

Is boxing injury-prone?
Just like with all other sports, there is a risk of injury, also with combat sports like boxing. However, the national average of injuries is much lower than in many other sports.
That’s why it’s important to pay close attention to safety guidelines and to seek professional guidance when starting with boxing. At Powerhouse 040 in Eindhoven, you train with a certified instructor and club. Also make use of protective equipment such as mouthguards, gloves and groin protectors.
Prefer boxing without sparring? Choose Fitboxing
Do you want the energy and intensity of boxing, but would rather avoid physical contact? Then Fitboxing is for you. During these sessions you train with punching bags and pads to work on your strength, conditioning and technique. So you don’t come into physical contact with others.
Fitboxing is the ideal way to get fit in a fun, varied and accessible way. You train in a motivating group, at your own pace and with plenty of personal guidance
What do I need to participate in a boxing class?
You don’t need much to join boxing classes at Powerhouse 040. Wear comfortable sportswear and bring a bottle of water. Boxing gloves and other materials are available at our gym. If you train more often, you can of course bring your own gloves.
For combat sports like boxing, we also recommend using a mouthguard and optionally a groin protector. For Fitboxing classes, protective equipment is not necessary.
