CrossFit is a form of training that combines strength, conditioning and technique into one full workout. The exercises are based on functional movements that you also use in daily life, such as lifting, pushing, pulling, jumping and running.
You train in a group setting, but always at your own level. Our coaches explain everything clearly and make sure everyone can join in. Even if you’ve never done CrossFit before, you can jump right into the classes at Powerhouse 040.

What are the differences between CrossFit and HYROX?
CrossFit and HYROX are both functional training methods, but in practice they have quite a few differences. One of the biggest differences is that CrossFit involves a lot of variation. Exercises in weightlifting, gymnastics, cardio and skills are all mixed together in one workout. No day is the same which keeps it fun and engaging.
HYROX, on the other hand, follows a fixed structure. You run one kilometer eight times and perform an exercise in between each run, such as sled pushes, wall balls or lunges. So you always know exactly what you’re going to do. HYROX is also a bit less technical than CrossFit.

What does a CrossFit training at Powerhouse 040 look like?
Every CrossFit class at Powerhouse 040 is different, but the structure of each session is clear and familiar. Classes always start with a warm-up, followed by a technical or strength-focused part. After that, we begin the WOD (Workout of the Day). This is the intense part of the workout where you give it your all. Of course always at your own level and within your own limits.
Some workouts focus more on strength while others are aimed at endurance, speed or agility. The combination of all these elements makes CrossFit a highly effective and varied sport.

What is CrossFit?
Crossfit is a form of strength training and cardio exercises aimed at strengthening muscles, improving fitness and reducing stress. It is based on functional movements that occur in everyday life, such as lifting, pushing, pulling, jumping and running.
What does a regular Crossfit class look like?
CrossFit training always starts with warm-up, followed by a section where you work on different techniques and exercises. Each workout ends with the Workout of the Day (WOD), which lasts about 10 to 20 minutes. The WOD is different every day, but always intense. We go through a changing series of exercises at a high pace. We use barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, tractor tyres, ropes, rings, pull-up bars and our own body weight, among others. This is how we train your physical condition and perseverance.
Is CrossFit only for athletes?
CrossFit is for anyone who wants to get healthier and fitter. Whether you are a beginner or have been actively exercising for years. Crossfit is for everyone. Within each class, we take into account the fitness level of the participants. So we offer variants for beginner Crossfitters (scaled) and for advanced Crossfitters (RX).
What do I need to participate in CrossFit?
You only need comfortable clothes and shoes to participate in CrossFit. It is also useful to bring a towel and a bottle of water. Powerhouse 040 in Eindhoven has all the other necessary (Rogue) equipment.
Can I start right after signing up?
Yes, once you’ve completed your registration through the sign-up form, you can start training right away at the club you registered with. In most cases, you’re welcome to join the same day at Powerhouse 040.
