What is Muay Thai?

Muay Thai is a martial art that originated in Thailand and is also known as “Thai boxing.” The difference between Muay Thai and regular boxing is that you don’t just use your fists, but also your knees, elbows and legs. This makes the sport much more intense and challenging than traditional boxing.

At Powerhouse 040 in Eindhoven, Muay Thai is not just about sparring, but also largely about technique, strength and conditioning. Step by step, you’ll learn the right movements under the guidance of experienced trainers. The classes are challenging, but safe and also easy to follow for beginners.

What to expect during a Muay Thai class

Every Muay Thai class at our gym follows a clear and structured format. We always start with a warm-up to properly prepare the body and reduce the risk of injuries. After that, we move on to the technical part where we focus on punch and kick combinations, clinch work or the use of knees and elbows.

In addition to technique, we also work on conditioning, strength and explosiveness. The intensity builds up throughout the class, but you can always adjust it to your own level.

Our trainers guide you step by step, pay attention to your posture and provide personal tips. This way, you’ll always get the most out of your training.

Our martial arts space in Eindhoven

Our martial arts room is spacious, well-organized and equipped with everything you need for a complete and safe Muay Thai training. Classes are always held on a safe floor surface and you’ll be working with professional equipment such as heavy bags, focus pads and kick shields. Everything is prepared in advance so you can get started right away as soon as the class begins.

The atmosphere during training is energetic, safe and respectful. We deliberately keep the groups small, ensuring there’s enough space to move freely and giving the trainer time to help everyone progress personally.
